Certified Flight Instructor — Instrument (CFII)
Expand your instructing credentials by teaching instrument flying. Gain the ability to guide students through complex procedures, navigation, and safety practices in all-weather conditions.
ABOUT THIS CERTIFICATE
The CFII certificate expands your flight instructor credentials to include instrument instruction. As a CFII, you can teach students working toward their Instrument Rating — one of the most in-demand training courses at any flight school.
This 4-week program builds on your existing CFI skills and instrument proficiency. You'll learn to teach instrument approaches, hold patterns, IFR procedures, and simulated IMC techniques from the right seat. Your own instrument scan and decision-making will sharpen significantly through the teaching process.
Adding the CFII to your credentials significantly increases your value as a flight instructor and accelerates your hour-building. CFII-qualified instructors are in higher demand and typically fly more hours per week, getting you to your 1,500-hour ATP minimums faster.
